About
For many trans* people, old childhood pictures can be too uncomfortable or painful to look at. These old pictures often stay packed away – a part of their lives that remains hidden.
The SAVED MEMORIES PROJECT was created to help bring these memories back into the light – with the power of AI
By transforming these moments, trans* people can reimagine their childhood photos and be more comfortable with their older photographic memories.
On this website, you can meet the people behind the project and learn how to use free online AI tools to create your own saved memories or those of a loved one.
Thank you for your interest and support. Please help us to spread this project so we can create more understanding, visibility and support for the trans* people in this world.

What does trans mean?
Trans refers to individuals whose gender identity differs from the sex and gender assigned at birth. This can involve social, medical, and legal transitions, such as hormone replacement therapy or surgery. While the term trans is relatively new, the concept has been around for centuries. Trans individuals have been present in many cultures and societies throughout history. Despite this, trans individuals still face discrimination and stigmatization today, highlighting the importance of education and acceptance in creating a more inclusive and supportive world.
What is a Transition?
Transitioning is a complex and personal process that can involve aligning the physical body with one’s gender identity. It can involve medical interventions, changes in physical appearance, and social and legal transitions. However, research shows that this process is not easy and can be emotionally challenging. Trans individuals often face discrimination and stigma, making it even harder. It's important to support and respect each person's journey and work towards creating a more inclusive society.
What is Gender Dysphoria?
Gender dysphoria describes the strong discomfort trans people often feel when attributes of their appearance or body do not match their gender identity. This condition is experienced by many individuals who identify as trans, and it can have a profound impact on their mental health and wellbeing. Trans people experience dysphoria on different levels, which makes it an extremely personal experience. Our research shows that gender dysphoria can be particularly distressing when trans individuals experience a mismatch between their actual physical body and the body they can relate to.
Fortunately, there are ways to alleviate gender dysphoria. Hormonal, medical, and surgical treatments can help to align the physical body with one's gender identity, while body modifications like hairstyles and clothing or using gender affirming products can also help. In addition, social affirmation – being seen, believed, and treated as one's stated gender – can play a crucial role in reducing social dysphoria. It's important for society to support individuals experiencing gender dysphoria and work towards creating a more inclusive environment for everyone.
